How It Works
Youth Mental Health Corps runs through partners in each participating state, so the first step is finding your state — that’s where you’ll see the pathways available near you and how to apply.

Explore the Pathways Near You
Every state offers its own mix of pathways — like the School-based Mental Health Navigator, Peer Support / Recovery Specialist, or Community Health Worker roles. Your state page shows which are available and what each involves.
Apply Through Your State
When you’re ready, you’ll apply directly through your state’s application — usually a linked form managed by that state’s service commission or program partner. Because each state runs its own process, the exact steps and timing vary by state.
What is the Digital Fellows Program?
The YMHC Digital Fellows Program is where members shape how the Corps shows up on social media. Fellows work as a youth-led creative team, making social-first content about mental health, their member experience, and what it's really like to serve — telling the story of the Corps in their own voice.
How is YMHC Involved During Your Service Term
YMHC is a national program delivered locally. We help set the vision and support members once they’re serving, but recruitment and applications are handled by each state’s service commission and program partners — so your state page is always the best source for current openings and deadlines.
